Synopsis
Margarita Rosa Carder is a volunteer school teacher in the villages of the El Retiro municipality, in the Antioquia province of Colombia. Her job, sponsored by the Fasor Foundation, is to direct the “Know Colombia in order to love her” project, which twice a year takes one or two schools from these villages on a trip to the ocean. In her classes, Margarita teaches her young students about the geography they will be traveling through during this adventure. The children use an illustrated diary to share their thoughts before and after the trip. Marisol has never been out of her village and dreams of the things her teacher talks about outside her tiny universe of milk cows and chickens.
