In this road movie, Chico and his grandmother Ismelda ride a horse-drawn cart across the Colombian Guajira desert to bury the bones of Chico’s mother Sarah. Elderly Ismelda gradually loses her memory during their trip, and enters into a deranged reality. Chico discovers that what his grandmother sees is real, and plunges into a mythical reality he had refused to accept. A journey of reconciliation with his past and rediscovery of his roots.
