Dora has decided to separate from the father of her daughters after 27 years, to return to the village where she grew up and to seek the love she did not find in the loneliness of her marriage. But she is forced to postpone everything when he suffers a violent accident at work that leaves him in a long recovery. Dora, who eases her days by laughing at her misfortune and fantasising about distant possibilities, waits for the moment to resume her plans and finally put an end to the arid persistence of things.
