Don Abel Rodriguez is a grandfather from the Amazon rainforest. In Don Abel's mind live all the plants, animals and invisible beings that live in the jungle. As a child, he was trained with a special diet and strict discipline so that he could memorise the name, function and appearance of all the plants. He is the last of his lineage of wise botanists.
Don Abel will undertake a journey to La Chorrera, his birthplace, to fulfil a promise. To take the remains of his son Juan Abel to bury him in the place where he was born, so that he can rest in peace.
