José Agustín is a Wayuu indigenous man, who was separated from his mother, culture and land by Catholic priests. From a near-death experience, the fear of dying leads him on a physical and spiritual journey to reconcile with his past at the hands of his grandson, director of the documentary. In his dreams, the deceased mother takes his grandfather on an inner journey in which he attends the exhumation of his own remains, fulfilling his desire to rest on his land in his family's cemetery.
