The Value of speech is a documentary that exalts the cultural richness of the indigenous Arhuaco people in the Sierra Nevada and the knowledge defended by leaders Ángel María Torres and Napoleón Torres, who were tortured and disappeared by the military in 1990. Using archival footage and field research, the film explores the worldview of the characters narrating the story, and from this perspective, the director conceives the spoken word as an instrument of unity, struggle, and ancestral heritage.
