The only thing I have of Ana Rosa, my paternal grandmother whom I did not know, is a photo I found in the bottom of a drawer when my parents died. There was seldom any mention of her in the family. My father never talked about her, nor my psychiatrist uncle, her son. But I was told many times that I resembled her. Afterwards, I was told that she was «crazy». That they had lobotomized her… The rest is a mystery that I want to unveil: I want to know who she was and why they committed that brutal act against her.
