Valentina, a quiet and seemingly cold child, flees from family violence with her mother Dolores and takes refuge in her grandmother's modest country house. There she meets Rosa, a spoiled Indian girl who works in the corn fields. Rosa must look for work as a domestic in the city, because a volcano impedes the sowing of her land, forcing her to abandon everything she knows, while Valentina tries to understand her mother's doubt, who does not decide whether or not to return to her husband in spite of the mistreatment. Rosa needs to leave and Valentina needs to stay. Both will do the impossible for Dolores to make the decision that benefits them, entangling her fantasy with reality, which invades, hits and breaks what they build together.
