Synopsis

Cali, Colombia, 2002. José González, a systems engineer in his middle age, discovers in his skin the symptoms of “litomiasis”: a obscure disease that according to media reports has arrived from the Amazon jungle. Whoever is attacked by the virus, dies a few days following the complete engulfment of the body by a second skin layer composed of voracious bacteria. Horrified with the effects of the disease on his body, José tries to commit suicide. But at the very moment he bring his revolver to his mouth, he is shaken by a violent bom explosion in the neighborhood. That night and during the following days, José discovers multiple “replicas” of himself, as if his sick ego had multiplied itself ad infinitum. The “replicas” are infected with the same virus and they are killing each other in endless fratricida fights. All of them are equal in cruelty, beyond any reason that will justify their plight.
