Synopsis

A Matter of Chemistry denounces the risks that truck washers in Colombia are exposed to on a daily basis. Without any protection and following no safety guidelines, these people wash the insides of tanks coated with chemical substances and are exposed to dangerous residues such as corrosives, solvents, fuels and acids. They work without a contract, and without health or pension benefits; and while accidents are always waiting to happen, they are not insured either. This documentary denounces this situation and reveals the cultural side of the washers’ lives, living totally unprotected and showing no interested in improving their condition, content as they are with their job and lifestyle.
