Synopsis
The Hook is an innovative proposal that reveals the profound reality of a never-before- seen country. Two young men from the lower stratum of Medellín, but who are not involved in the violence that is so often associated with Colombia, decide to make a crazy dream come true: to reach the sea by bicycle. The Road Movie genre imprints the story with an amazing pace of travel, making it a metaphor for the search for oneself. The story reveals a profound desire for change and disrupting established order, through the means of locomotion used by the young people of the neighborhoods of Medellin: they are transported through streets and slopes by tying their bikes with a hook to the back of buses and trucks. This practice, spectacular but often deadly, is a form of defying the social and emotional neglect of a marginalized generation that avidly seeks to feel alive, thanks to the freedom that results from dominating vertigo and speed.
