Synopsis
"Patient" is the word used for those following medical instructions or for the moment we need to calmly wait. In Colombia, the country's pitiless health system forces its users to confront absurd bureaucratic obstacles in order to obtain services. Patient refers not only a person who suffers an illness and hopes for recovery, but also to someone who provides personal care to the ill, fighting every day to provide what’s needed to his or her loved one. Nubia is patient and a single mother; despite the fear of losing her daughter to cancer, she manages to steadfastly overcome the convoluted procedures put in place by the health system – the only hope for her daughter.
