Synopsis
Tropical Virus is an animated film about a girl growing up and slowly learning to deal with the reality of her "normal" family. This family, like most, is full of nuances and works to shape her into someone she perhaps would rather not be.
The film is an adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name by Colombian-Ecuadorian artist Paola "Powerpaola" Gaviria, in which a young woman struggles for independence in a difficult context filled with stereotypes and appearances. It is the story of a young Latin American woman who doesn’t fit any mold and learns to live by simply living. The girl, with her unique feminine vision of the world, witnesses a series of small crises that shape her personality.
