Synopsis

When the rainy season begins, Helena’s baby will be born. Her adoptive mother and brother collect food and firewood in the jungle, preparing for the weeks of rain and maternity that are approaching. Other people dry fish, some harvest their crops, and from the midst of these ordinary actions emerge stories of pain and solitude, filling this distant and inescapable place. The day of rest arrives and the neighbors take to the road to accompany the birth. The rain begins. Life continues.
