Synopsis

An April 9 ... is a memory experiment, an animated journey through representative images of the Bogotazo. The images expressed here are those of our collective unconscious reinterpreted with the flexibility of plasticine and flowing with the unpredictable rhythm of memories. It is an exorcism that releases the ghosts of a country that is easily forgotten. It does not tell a linear story or present a single truth. It uses symbols and directly appeals to emotions, challenging the viewer to reflect and shake the memory. Starting with tolerance and even the exaltation of violence by our society, this project proposes a starting point for the recent Colombian history: the death seen from the victim, the euphoria of the inflamed masses, the premeditation and ingenuity of the murderer and the cruelty of which we are participants, are the elements that guide the expressive and technical path of visual and sound planning.
