Juan Pablo Barragán

Juan Pablo Barragán was born on April 28, 1981 in Bogota. In 2006, he graduated from the Bogota Academy of Arts (ASAB) as a Master of Performing Arts, with an emphasis in education. For five years, he wore a costume and played the mischievous rat Croquis in the children's program El Club 10. Thanks to that role, he was called on to play one of the penguins in the popular Bonice commercial. He then went on to study education at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
 
On the small screen, Barragán has acted in numerous productions: Club 10 (2007-2009), Tu voz estéreoLa familia cheveroni (2009), El laberinto (2011), Dulce amor (2013), and Las Esmeraldas (2015), all by the Caracol network. With the RCN network, he acted in El último matrimonio feliz (2008), Inversiones el ABC (2009), A mano limpia (2011), and A mano limpia 2 (2012). He also had roles in Metástasis (2013) and Lady Tabares (2014) by Teleset; El monstruo de los naranjos (2013) by FoxTelecolombia; Irracionales (2013) by Dynamo; No sos vos, soy yo (2013) by Laberinto; Fugitivos (2014) by CMO Producciones; and the web series El apartamento (2015) by Colombo Films.
 
On the big screen, Barragán has acted in the feature films La sargento matacho (2015); The Squad (2011) by Rhayuela, in which played the lead role; Lejos del mundo (2012) by RCN Cine; Liveforever (2015) by DynamoMoria (2016) by Circo Films; and Two Women and a Cow (2016). He acted in the shorts Cena maternal by Estudios Babel and César Heredia‘s Elefante, which won him a Santa Lucia award for Best Actor at the 12th Bogota Short Film Festival – BOGOSHORTS.
 
In 2004, he received a grant from the ASAB to participate in Ricardo Behrens’s clown workshop, held at the Ninth Ibero-American Theater Festival in Bogota. In 2014, he received the award for Best Play from the Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Foundation, for El Médico a Palos. Barragán has also participated in numerous theatrical productions, under the direction of Jorge Alí Triana, Ana María Sánchez, Juan Carlos Moyano, Mario Escobar, Santiago Merchant, Víctor Quesada, and others.

Filming
