Estefanía Piñeres

Estefanía Piñeres is an actress, screenwriter, and director. She holds a degree in Advertising from the Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano and has completed several writing and acting workshops. These include Acting Technology at RCN Crea - SENA, Creative Writing Workshop at Universidad Central, Acting Workshop at The Barrow Group (New York), Acting without Effort at Casa Azul Argos (Mexico), and the Mentoring Program for Creators (MIAnima 22-23) at the Association of Women in Animation of Spain - MIA, among others.

As an actress, she has appeared in the series Mamá también (Mom too, Teleset, 2012), Chica vampiro (Vampire girl, Televideo, 2013), Tres caínes (Three Cains, RTI, 2013), La viuda negra (The black Widow, RTI, 2013), Quién mató a Patricia Soler (Who Killed Patricia Soler, RTI, 2014), 2091 (Fox, 2016), La ley del corazón (Heart's Decree, RCN, 2016), El rey del valle (The King of the Valley, Claro Video, 2018), Distrito salvaje (Wild District, Netflix, 2019), El cartel de los sapos el origen (The Snitch Cartel: Origins, Caracol Televisión, 2020), Las Villamizar (Caracol Televisión, 2021), and several more.

She has also worked on feature films such as El aula vacía (The Empty Classroom, 2012) by Carlos Gaviria; Malcriados (Spoiled, 2015), Doble (Double, 2016) and Fortuna Lake (2017) by Felipe Martínez; Afuera del Tiempo (Outside of Time, 2017), Sicosexual (Psychosexual, 2018) and Ruido (Noise, 2018) by Marco Vélez Esquivia; La misma estación (The Same Station, 2023) by Ruth Caudeli and Malta (2024) by Natalia Santa.

She participated in the Annecy Animation Showcase, in the Animation Day organized by the Annecy Festival at the Cannes Film Festival, with the animation project Mu-Ki-Ra. As a screenwriter, she contributed to the films Misteriosa (Mysterious, 2017) and Ruido (2018), wrote and directed the short films Color-ido (Color-gone, 2019) and No volver (Not Coming Back, 2022), and worked on the screenplay for Nain (2015). She is also the co-creator and screenwriter of the web series Mujeres de tiempo completo (Full Time Women, 2017). She directed the music videos Tenemos que hablar (We Need to Talk) by Juan Pablo Vega ft. Ximena Sariñana and Tampoco poco (Neither Little) by Juan Pablo Vega ft. Irepelusa.

Estefanía Piñeres has received several awards and incentives for her work, including the New Media Award for Development (for Misteriosa), the Film Development Fund (FDC) incentive in the animated short film category (Color-ido), as well as nominations for the Macondo Awards for Best Actress (Sicosexual), the Produ Awards for Best Supporting Actress (Las Villamizar), and the Rolling Stone Awards in Spanish for Best Music Video of the Year (Tenemos que Hablar), among others.

She is currently working on an animated feature film, of which she is the director and screenwriter, Cleo: y la Selva Mágica (Cleo: and the Magical Jungle), winner of the MinCultura Grant for Children's Feature Film Development (2018), recipient of the FDC in the Animated Feature Film Development category (2018), Pitch Studio - Ánima Estudios and Pixelatl (2020), Digital Future Award and BAM Animation Selection (2022), and the FDC for Animated Feature Film Production (2022).
