Before know as Festival Internacional In Vitro Visual. This is an initiative born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 2003, at the hands of members of In Vitro Productions, creators of In Vitro Bar. The initial goal was to establish a visual window to allow the public free display of the work done by bar patrons. With simultaneous digital projections on three screens, attending nightly In Vitro Visual around 350 people, achieving year over the presence of more than 17,000 people willing to learn the new talent of Colombian cinema. Since 2006, the sample creates BEST OF IN VITRO VISUAL compiling six hours with the most outstanding work of the previous year, this show travels throughout the year by more than 12 cities in Colombia and has been exhibited in Argentina, Germany, Spain, U.S. and Venezuela.
Through call and independent curators, the event come about 180 Colombian projects each year, of which 45 are chosen to form the Official Selection of In Vitro Visual. Among these works the jury in November revealed the nominees are honored at the awards ceremony in the first week of December known as the fiivv- In Visual Vitro International Festival-.
