For the first time, Colombia is the Latin American country with the most films in the official sections of the world’s preeminent film event. Four Colombian films will take part this year – Alias María in Un Certain Regard, El Abrazo de la Serpiente (Embrace of the Serpent) in the Directors’ Fortnight, La Tierra y la Sombra (Land and Shade) in the Critics' Week, and El Concursante (The Contestant) in L’Atelier – along with a delegation of more than 60 Colombians participating in the many industry sections

At the 16th edition of the festival, which ended on April 17, five of the three participating Colombian films picked up awards

One Colombian film took part in the Beijing festival and two projects were selected by the TFI Latin America Fund this April

More than 30 films were screened in Germany at the Lakino festival and the first Colombian Film Festival in Berlin, along with one film at the Frauen Film Festival in Dortmund

Carlos Osuna’s feature film is one of the 15 projects selected for the 11th edition of this Cinefondation program, which will run from May 15 to 21 at the 68th edition of the most important film festival in the world

Applications are currently being accepted from both industry reps and audiovisual sector professionals for all categories in the sixth edition of BAM, which this year features Mexico as guest country of honor
