The Madrid Cineteca and Non Stop Barcelona (The International Animation Film Festival) were some of the arenas to welcome a showcase of the best in Colombian film
The Colombian films to be screened this year are the Colombian-French co-production Gente de Bien, by Franco Lolli, at the Critics Week; the Colombian-Argentinian co-production Refugiado, by the Argentinian director Diego Lerman, at the Directors Fortnight; and the Colombian-British short film Leidi, by Simón Mesa Soto, at the Short Films Competition
Two projects received support from the TFI Latin American Media Arts Fund, and the Colombian-American film Manos Sucias won Best New Director in the Spotlight section
Colombian participation at the 16th BAFICI included four short films, 11 participants in the Talents Buenos Aires section, and one juror in the Human Rights Competition
The producers of the three best projects participating in BAM will have the chance to take part in the Industry Days section of the 67th Locarno International Film Festival, to be held in Switzerland from August 9 to 11, 2014. Applications for the various sections are still being accepted
