On July 11, during the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM), Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos sanctioned Law 1556 of 2012 “promoting Colombia’s film industry”. The government estimates that the new Film Law will generate approximately four thousand jobs in Colombia’s film industry over the next five years, and new business totaling close to 200 million dollars.
