After his helicopter is mysteriously shot down over Latin America, a special forces operator decides to retire from the military and start a family in the United States. However, after several years of mortgage payments, dropping the kids off at school, backyard barbecues, and trying to adjust to life in the suburbs, he decides to come out of retirement to take a security job for a journalist who is interviewing a vain dictator, who may or may not have ordered the attack on him and his men. When a military coup breaks out in the middle of the interview, the three are forced to escape into the jungle, where they must survive the elements, the military, and each other.

This is the story of Freelance, an action comedy directed by Pierre Morel, written by Jacob Lentz, and produced by Steven Richards, Renee Tab, Chris Tuffin, and Chris Milburn, and starring John Cena, Alison Brie, and Juan Pablo Raba. Filmed in Colombia in Girardot, Nilo, and Bogota, under the production of Second Chance Film Productions, with the production services of Wideangle Films, the film has been in theaters since October 6.

The film's production was made possible through the Audiovisual Investment Certificate - CINA, leveraging local talent such as Eugenio García in production design, Diego García in art direction, Ana María Urrea in costume design, Iván Palomino as the scriptwriter, Juan Manuel Barreto as the gaffer, and Mateo López and Sara López as camera assistants, among others.

Established by Decree 474 of 2020, the Audiovisual Investment Certificates - CINA are managed by Proimágenes Colombia and granted by the National Government. They offer a 35% tax rebate on expenses for audiovisual and logistical services by foreign production companies in the country to boost Colombia as a preferred destination for audiovisual production. For 2023, the Ministry of Culture managed to allocate a maximum of 300 billion pesos (USD 70.5 million) for issuing these certificates.

Meanwhile, Buddy Games, a reality competition series hosted by Josh Duhamel, debuted on CBS in September. The show was filmed in Mosquera, Cundinamarca, in February 2023. It's inspired by the comedy film of the same name, which Josh Duhamel both created and directed, based on a real-life tradition of organizing physical and mental challenges for his friends. In this series, six teams of four lifelong friends gather at a lake house to take on various challenges, including dodgeball dives, water balloon fights, and obstacle courses. The last-standing team will be crowned champion and awarded a cash prize. These challenges test each team's physical and mental strength to foster their bonds of friendship and allow them to relive their youthful glory days. Buddy Games is a Bunim-Murray production with audio-visual services provided by Cumbia Films.

Apollo and Emma's love story is a modern fairy tale until Emma mysteriously disappears. Left heartbroken, Apollo embarks on a dangerous journey through an unfamiliar New York, a place he never knew existed. This is the official synopsis for The Changeling, a horror/fantasy miniseries adapted from the award-winning novel by Victor LaValle (2017), now available on Apple TV.

The series features Academy Award-nominated actor LaKeith Stanfield (Atlanta), Clark Backo, Adina Porter, Samuel T. Herring, Alexis Louder, and Jared Abrahamson in collaboration with Malcolm Barrett. The production was a joint effort of Apple Studios and Annapurna, with production services provided by Jaguarbite for one episode. The series, written and adapted by showrunner Kelly Marcel, features executive producers Megan Ellison, Patrick Chu, and Annapurna's Ali Krug, along with Kelly Marcel, Victor LaValle, David Knoller, and director Jonathan van Tulleken, starring LaKeith Stanfield, and director Melina Matsoukas representing De La Revolucion Films. The series was partially filmed in Santa Marta, Colombia.

Buddy Games and The Changeling have received compensation from the Colombia Film Fund (FFC), a financing mechanism established by Law 1556. This fund utilizes resources from the Colombian national budget to reimburse producers who conduct audiovisual projects in Colombia for a portion of the expenses related to their production. One of the basic requirements is that the production must shoot either fully or partially in Colombia. The FFC has allocated a sum of COP 9,150 million (USD 2.1 million) for compensation in the year 2023. Combined with unspent funds from previous years, this gives a total compensation of COP 12,570 million (USD 2.95 million). In 2022, compensation of COP 7,991 million (USD 1.88 million) was granted to five new projects, beneficiaries of the FFC. These projects are expected to bring an investment of COP 24,975 million (USD 5.86 million) to the country and create jobs for more than 350 Colombian workers.
