Founded in 1979, the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, organized by the Clermont-Ferrand Film Society, is recognized as the world's leading short film festival and the second-largest film festival in France after Cannes. This event aims to bring together industry professionals, including filmmakers, producers, distributors, exhibitors, students, and the general public to celebrate short film production. With nearly 600 short films screened in its various sections, competitions, and retrospectives, this festival comprehensively explores the diverse possibilities within short film creation.

In its 46th edition, the National Competition featured La perra (The Bitch), a short film directed by Carla Melo and produced by Evidencia Films (Colombia) and June Films (France) in collaboration with Arte France. Notable contributors include Andrea Muñoz in animation and ink, as well as Julián Arias, Gabriela Otálora, Sergio Román, and Paola Cuéllar in color and ink. The film, which received support from the Film Development Fund (FDC) in the Short Film Production category, has earned spots in festivals such as Cannes, Toronto, and Annecy.

The International Competition featured Entre las sombras arden mundos  (Between Shadows Worlds Burn) by Ismael García Ramírez, produced by Crisálida Cine in collaboration with Rara Colectivo Audiovisual. The film stars María Eugenia Grajales, Samuel Atehortúa Marín, Camilo Machado, Daniel Lynch and Manuel Cardona. The art direction was done by Daniel Rincón, the cinematography by David Correa, the editing by Tigax Vélez, and the sound by Juan Pablo Patiño and Eloísa Arcila, among others. This Colombian short film won the Best Queer Short Award (Prix du Queer métrage), which recognizes the best LGBTQ-themed short film in each year's festival program.

Le Marché du Film Court, known in English as the Short Film Market, has been part of the Festival since 1986. This is the world's most important short film market, which in 2024 brought together around 9,000 short films, 3,000 professionals, 300 organizations, 600 producers, 200 buyers, 100 distributors, and more than 500 programmers.

During this event, Proimágenes Colombia presented the Colombian Short Film Catalog Refresh-Vol. 5 as part of the Market Screenings. The films presented in this volume include Bogotá story by Esteban Pedraza, Burbuja (Bubble) by Daniela Riascos, Cuerpo de esta sombra (Body of a Shadow) by Andrea Muñoz, Estamos en el mapa (We are on the Map) by Santiago Rodríguez Cárdenas, La noche del minotauro (The Night of Minotaur) by Juliana Zuluaga Montoya, Tierra encima (Under Land) by Sebastián Duque, and Tigers by Alfredo Marimon Carcamo.

In addition, the Bogotá Short Film Festival - Bogoshorts was represented by its director Jaime E. Manrique and assistant director Miguel Morales. They held meetings with various industry representatives and supported the development of the short film Un día de mayo (A Day in May) by Camilo Escobar, featured in the Talents Connection section. This project emerged as the winner of the BFM Incubator at the BFM - Bogoshorts Film Market 2023, securing fast-track access to this platform. The short film serves as a powerful exploration of memory, drawing from the director's childhood memories. It delves into the poignant moment of his teenage sister's departure and its impact on his family life. Set against the backdrop of Medellín at the turn of the millennium, the narrative focuses on the everyday experiences and relationships within a middle-class household. The protagonist, Joaquín, grapples with a sense of unease as he navigates societal expectations of masculinity while navigating the emotional dynamics within his family influenced by the women in his life.

Finally, Bogoshorts Film Agency, the distribution arm of the Bogoshorts platform, presented its lineup of new releases and short films in its second year of promotion. Among the films presented were Nélida by Marina Artigas and Celeste Lois (Uruguay, Argentina), Pan (Bread) by Miguel León and Claudia Osejo, Mañana (Tomorrow) by Ingrid López, Chica de fábrica (Sweatshop Girl) by Selma Cervantes (Mexico), La ley de las acciones (The Law of Actions) by Carlos Hernández, Exhumación (Exhumation) by Jeimy Daniela Martínez, Nada rima con naranjas (Nothing Rhymes with Oranges) by Miguel Morales, and Pirsas by Angélica María Torres.
