Colombia participated in the audiovisual services fair held in Miami, United States, from January 23 to 25.

Content Americas, a newly created marketplace dedicated to the challenges of modern television and its future, was held from January 23 to 25 at the Miami Downtown Hilton Hotel. The event aimed to foster connections within the audiovisual content industry in Latin America, North America, and globally. Its debut attracted 1,600 content executives and received positive feedback, earning an 8.5 rating from attendees. With more than 830 registered buyers from 50 countries, 120 exhibitors, and several immersive events, Content Americas featured an extensive conference program, an AI Academy training segment, the awarding of the Rose d'Or Latinos, and the 100 Almanac Party. This year's focus was on Turkish productions.

The event was attended by buyers and commissioners from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Google TV/YouTube, Apple TV+, Disney+ (The Walt Disney Company), Star+ (The Walt Disney Company), HBO Max (Warner Bros. Discovery), NBC Universal/Telemundo Streaming Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Paramount+, Pluto TV, Spotify, Audible (Amazon), TikTok, Samsung TV Plus, Dailymotion, Rakuten, Mercado Play (Mercado Libre), Olympusat, Clarovideo (América Móvil), DirecTV Latinoamérica, Liberty Media, Atresplayer (Spain), Movistar+ (Spain), Vix (TelevisaUnivision) and Globoplay (Brazil).

In this context, Proimágenes Colombia accompanied around 20 audiovisual companies that met with buyers, sales agents, and platforms that seek to connect Spanish-speaking stories with the global market. They spent three days discussing trends in entertainment consumption and different formats, including the future of audiovisual language, the implementation of new production technologies such as artificial intelligence, and the transformation of the audience as the main criteria for closing deals.

Colombia at the Berlinale 2024

Short films Uli by Mariana Gil and Un pájaro voló (A Bird Flew), directed by Leinad Pájaro De la Hoz, along with feature films La piel en primavera (Skin in Spring) by Yennifer Uribe and Yo vi tres luces negras (I Saw Three Black Lights) by Santiago Lozano, represented Colombian cinema at the 74th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival. The Colombian delegation was made up of Proimágenes Colombia and more than 30 representatives of the national film industry. Both short films were awarded.
